Join the Friends of IMS
The concerts in Cornwall are arranged by the Friends of IMS. Their aim is to promote the work of the seminars and to build IMS's reputation as an integral part of the musical life of west Cornwall. Friends enjoy a number of benefits, including advance information and booking for concerts, and free access to three sessions per week (subject to space) of master classes and rehearsals. By joining the Friends, you are helping to support one of the most important centres of music making - in Cornwall and in the whole of the UK.

Friends Sponsorship
Every year, money raised by the Friends of IMS helps two students to attend the Master Classes. This year they supported the Australian violinist, Monique Lapins, Norwegian cellist Torun Saeter Stavseng, and Chinese pianist Kuok-Wai Lio - all of whom were chosen to perform in one of the public concerts during the seminar. Without this support from the Friends of IMS both students would not have been able to attend the Master Classes and would not have benefited from this invaluable opportunity to work with such professors.
Helping Out...
The Friends Committee in Cornwall always welcome extra help with various aspects of running the concerts. For example:
- local publicity
- ushering / programme sales during concerts
- refreshments during concerts
